An original illuminated-style “Drink” sign from a GWR Mk3 restaurant buffet carriage, dating from the late 20th century.

The translucent sign panel displays the wonderfully direct wording:

Drink
Hot or cold
Wine or beer
Spirits or mixer

Retained within its original brushed aluminium frame, the sign was designed to be backlit above the buffet counter inside the railway carriage. Although no longer illuminated, it could readily be fitted with modern LED lighting to recreate its original appearance.

A genuine and increasingly uncommon piece of British railway history, with superb decorative appeal for a kitchen, home bar, restaurant, pub or railway-themed interior.

Condition

Presented in good original condition with surface marks, light wear and minor signs of use consistent with its former working life. It is currently offered without illumination or electrical fittings. Please study the photographs carefully.
