Larkin’s Antiques was established in Belper in October 2019 by third-generation antique dealer John Larkin, continuing a family connection with the antiques trade spanning generations.
Having grown up surrounded by antiques, craftsmanship and the excitement of discovering something special, John opened his first antiques shop in Bradford during the early 1980s. After pursuing a successful career in sales, he eventually returned to the business he had always loved—bringing a lifetime of knowledge, instinct and enthusiasm to Larkin’s Antiques.
Based on the first floor of Derwentside Shopping Mill in Belper, our showroom offers an ever-changing collection of antique furniture and decorative interiors. We have a particular passion for early English oak, walnut, chests, cabinets, seating, mirrors, lighting and works of art, alongside unusual pieces that simply have character, quality and presence.
Every item is personally selected. We buy with our hearts, choosing pieces we genuinely love and would be pleased to live with ourselves. The result is a distinctive and sometimes eclectic collection, united by craftsmanship, honest wear, rich colour and timeless appeal.

This continued recognition reflects our commitment to personal service, carefully chosen stock and making the experience of buying antiques friendly, enjoyable and accessible. Our showroom has also welcomed television productions and familiar faces from the antiques world, including filming connected with Salvage Hunters, Paul Martin and Hansons Auctioneers.
