Pair of Large Composite-Stone Guardian Dogs

An imposing matched pair of large decorative guardian dogs, cast in a substantial stone-composite material and displaying wonderfully expressive, almost gargoyle-like features.

Each beast is seated upright upon an integral plinth, with powerful paws, muscular modelling and a beautifully weathered stone-grey surface. Their bold expressions and commanding scale give them tremendous character and architectural presence.

Loosely inspired by traditional Chinese temple lions or Foo dogs, the pair would make striking guardians for an entrance, hallway, conservatory or garden setting. Equally effective within a dramatic interior, they have the convincing appearance of weathered architectural stone and are exceptionally heavy.

Highly decorative, characterful and increasingly difficult to replace, they are offered together as the original matched pair.

Condition: Good decorative condition, displaying natural surface variation, weathering, marks and minor age-related wear consistent with their material and use. These contribute greatly to their established appearance. Please study the photographs for further detail.
