Queen Anne Walnut Chest on Stand, Circa 1710

A handsome Queen Anne-period walnut chest on stand, dating to the early 18th century, circa 1710–1720.

The upper chest is arranged with two short drawers above three graduated long drawers, providing generous and practical storage. Beautifully figured walnut drawer fronts, a moulded cornice and richly patinated surfaces give the piece considerable warmth and character.

The lower stand incorporates three further drawers above a shaped apron and is raised upon elegant cabriole legs with pad feet. Decorative brass handles and escutcheons complete its classic Queen Anne appearance.

Constructed in two sections for easier positioning, this tall and impressive piece combines excellent storage with elegant proportions and considerable decorative presence. It would make a superb statement in a bedroom, dressing room, hallway or country-house interior.
