Late Victorian Green Leather Button-Back Slipper Chair

A characterful late Victorian slipper chair, dating to circa 1880–1900 and upholstered in wonderfully aged olive-green leather.

The generously shaped back is deeply buttoned, with the leather secured by traditional brass studwork around the outer edge. Raised on turned mahogany front legs with brass castors, the chair has an elegant low-slung profile and a particularly inviting presence.

The leather displays attractive creasing, tonal variation and honest wear acquired through age and use, giving it the rich patina that makes original leather seating so appealing. A stylish and comfortable occasional chair, equally suited to a bedroom, dressing room, reading corner or atmospheric period interior.
