Product Details

A striking four-trumpet glass epergne, believed to date to the late Victorian period, circa 1880–1900, or possibly a slightly later example produced in the Victorian tradition.

The arrangement comprises one tall central trumpet surrounded by three gracefully curved smaller trumpets, each displaying delicate opalescent blue-white colouring and an attractive cranberry-red rim. Decorative metal flower-form mounts secure the trumpets above a large, deeply frilled glass bowl with a matching cranberry border.

Originally intended as an elaborate table centrepiece, the separate trumpets and lower bowl could be filled with flowers to create a wonderfully impressive display. Its sculptural form, luminous colouring and generous proportions also make it a particularly decorative statement piece when displayed empty.

An unusual and highly attractive example with tremendous presence.

Condition: Good antique condition, with light surface marks, minor imperfections and age-related wear. Please study the photographs carefully, particularly around the delicate glass rims, for further detail.
